December 2023
It’s that time of year again. And that means looking ahead and backward. I’m going to do a bit of both this month. And I’m going to provide some insight into what we are doing in 2024 at Supply Chain Management Review. First, let’s look at what’s inside this December. As has become tradition at Supply Chain Management Review, we have included a collection of some of our favorite articles from the past year, covering topics on retail fulfillment, negotiations, artificial intelligence and supply chain transformation. Going back to the theme of looking ahead, I want to tell you about some changes we are making both online and in print. Browse this issue archive.Need Help? It’s that time of year again. And that means looking ahead and backward. I’m going to do a bit of both this month. And I’m going to provide some insight into what we are doing in 2024 at Supply Chain Management Review.
First, let’s look at what’s inside this December. As has become tradition at Supply Chain Management Review, we have included a collection of some of our favorite articles from the past year, covering topics on retail fulfillment, negotiations, artificial intelligence and supply chain transformation.
Going back to the theme of looking ahead, I want to tell you about some changes we are making both online and in print. First, Supply Chain Management Review is getting a new look with our January issue. Inside, you will still find the long-form, thought-provoking content from leading academics, researchers and analysts that you have come to expect from SCMR, but it will come with a more modern, cleaner design that we are very excited about. We will also be introducing a new regular column from the supply chain leaders at EY as well as a new feature called Spotlight that will zero in on a specific segment of the supply chain.
Online, at scmr.com, is where you will find the biggest changes. For the first time, we have introduced a digital editorial calendar designed to provide you with new options to engage with us on the digital front.
These options include regular features, each with their own theme and monthly topics designed to help you better manage your supply chain operations. You can find more on these themes on our website, where I have explained them in more depth. Briefly, they are:
- The Academy: A monthly look at the world of supply chain education.
- Procurement Success: A monthly case study of a top procurement issue.
- Leadership Lens: A monthly article highlighting the keys to executive leadership.
- Vertical Voices: A monthly case study that looks at the people/perspectives/technology that make the supply chain work.
- NextGen Leaders: Think of this as our version of the 40 under 40. We are looking for the supply chain leaders of tomorrow.
- 6 Questions with …: Each month we will interview a top supply chain leader and get thoughts on the state of the supply chain.
Finally, if you are a regular reader of our website, you will notice that we are updating the site with a new look and design that should provide us with more flexibility moving forward. If you are interested in participating in any of these monthly features, know someone that may make a good fit, or just want to share your thoughts, don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly at [email protected].
