APICS announced Bradley University as the 2018 APICS Case Competition winner. The global case competition is provided in collaboration with Deloitte and concluded today at APICS 2018. Throughout the past year, participating teams presented solutions to a hypothetical, end-to-end supply chain management problem, which involved distribution, logistics, sales and operations planning and inventory challenges. Winners are awarded prize money and industry recognition.

Bradley University contributed a concept that pushes boundaries and sets an example for all aspiring supply chain management professionals around the world. Second place in the competition was awarded to Georgia Institute of Technology, and third place to Harvey Mudd College.

“Each year we have many impressive competition submissions, and this year, as part of our inaugural competition provided in collaboration with Deloitte, Bradley University showed outstanding strategic thinking in developing their case. We look forward to seeing them grow in their careers and apply these skills,” said APICS CEO Abe Eshkenazi, CSCP, CPA, CAE. “Many of our competition winners continue to expand the limits of supply chain, transforming communities and industries worldwide.”

For this year's competition, APICS and Deloitte collaborated on the design of the case problems and scoring rubrics used for judging. More than 200 teams entered the competition in October 2017, and the seven winners competed at the finals this September. “Our Deloitte supply chain and manufacturing operations professionals were exceedingly impressed with this year's competition submissions within both the regional and final competition rounds,” said Doug Gish, principal and supply chain and network operations practice leader, Deloitte Consulting LLP. “We are thrilled to collaborate with APICS in encouraging young professionals to develop the critical skills needed to manage complex supply networks in the future.”

Registration is now open for the 2019 competition, and first-round entries are due October 31, 2018. More information about the APICS Case Competition is available at http://www.apics.org/case-competition.
