Mission statements, vision statements, and strategic objectives are littered with words like “agile”, “flexible” and “responsive”, but the truth is few companies are willing to embrace the discipline that it takes to earn real agility.
In its place, “false agility” in the form of unvetted hallway decisions, firefighting, dragon slaying, and just plain old brute force prevail. “We get it done, no matter what!” Which to the trained ear translates to “Customer service at ANY cost!” Companies can go out of business with that kind of agility.
As humans we are hardwired to resist change – it's a natural instinct. Change your hair, deviate from your usual entrée, interview for a new job… whatever the situation you're up for a change. BUT when push comes to shove how many of us actually follow through? I can think of a million excuses as to why I should stay with the tried and true.
Perhaps that's why so many organizations are resistant to the idea of implementing a formal master scheduling process. “My planning spreadsheet works just fine, thank you very much! I don't use [insert ERP system here] except to execute my orders…it doesn't work for what we do. We're different.”
During this webinar you’ll learn:
- Common challenges faced by companies struggling with “false agility”
- How to apply a formal master scheduling process in any environment, from make-to-stock through engineer-to-order
- How to increase real agility and effective decision making with a disciplined approach
