As SCMR noted last year the Annual Global Supply Chain Excellence Summit staged by the USC Marshal School of Business placed a major focus on Southern California ports. Critical congestion issues were also addressed, as was the fact that both Long Beach and Los Angeles face increasing competition from ports in Canada and Mexico for “mega-ship” market share.

The 4th Annual Global Supply Chain Excellence Summit held on USC Campus is coming up on September 15-16, 2016.

Each year they offer the opportunity for academic leaders, and industry executives to not only share insight on how they have managed to strategically navigate the world of supply chain in a rapidly changing environment but also recognize industry best practices.

A slate of C-level leaders in business and distinguished Marshall faculty will present on a series of thought provoking panels and Feature Speaker series while offering guests the opportunity to ask questions to dig further into the topics.

During the summit on September 15th, they will also be hosting Industry Network Connect (INC) from 5:30-8:00 pm to provide an opportunity for USC students to network with companies for potential job opportunity as well as learn the best practices within broad spectrum of industry.

In previous years, they have had 400+ attendees and strong involvement from both industry executives and distinguished faculty to bridge the gap between industry and academia.

They'd like to continue the value we bring to the supply chain and business community, and position USC center for global supply chain as the thought leader in global supply chain industry.

This year they plan to speak on the below breakout session topics:

- Retail / Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG)

  • Supply Chain Risk

  • Healthcare (Humanitarian/US network) / Pharmaceutical

  • Manufacturing

  • Aerospace / Defense

  • Technology / Supply Chain Solutions

  • Logistics

  • Digital Transformation

  • Asia Outlook

  • Latin America Outlook
