Walmart Inc. is not only the world’s leading retailer, but also one of the world’s leading companies when it comes to sustainability. That leadership extends throughout its supply chain. The company notes that its “systematic approach to promoting supply chain sustainability begins with setting aspirations relevant to our overall climate, waste, nature, and people-related agenda, aligning on priority outcomes and actions necessary to support those outcomes” and it includes initiatives covering areas such as zero waste, emissions reduction, human rights, inclusive economic opportunities.
For that, and other reasons, Walmart has been chosen as the winner of the 2024 NextGen Supply Chain Conference Visionary Award. Karisa Sprague, senior vice president of fulfillment and reverse operations, Walmart U.S. Supply Chain, will accept the award and explain Walmart’s supply chain successes at the conference.
Past winners of the Visionary Award include Kimberly-Clark (2023), Procter & Gamble (2022), American Eagle Outfitters (2021) and Honeywell (2020).
The NextGen Visionary Award is given to one company each year, recognizing that company for the strides it has made in its supply chain. The award represents where the best supply chains are going next.
